Online teaching has a number of advantages over traditional lessons. In a digitized age where the world is connected by the internet, online tutoring removes the limitation in learning and teaching with the need of face-to-face engagement. AJ Gurus’ online tutoring allows for flexibility when setting up the lessons require students or teachers to travel, and can be much more flexible as regards their frequency, duration and scheduling. Tutoring session can be arranged very quickly, and the tutors can answer questions and give help in real time when the needs arise.

Online tutoring takes place using an advanced online classroom tool which supports the full cycle of interactions between the student and tutor.

No, all you need is a laptop or phone and internet. We recommend using Google chrome for better video interactions.

Students:

Students are the end-users. They can be their own client, having one login for both roles, or may well be the children of a client, or a pupil at a client institution. They could also be linked to more than one client account if needed. This enables the system to separate the students from the billing process if desired. Students are assigned to jobs and lessons. From their login, they can view their calendar of upcoming jobs and past jobs, as well as view previous lesson reports.

Clients receive and pay invoices on charges accumulated from lessons and ad hoc charges. They are often students, parents of students, or a school/other institution. Each client can manage one or more student accounts. Within their account, clients will be able to see upcoming lessons in their calendar, view past lesson reports and pay for invoices. They can also book upcoming lessons when logged in or when visiting the website.

Use the Find a tutor page Tutors to view a list of selected tutors. The list can be filtered using many different criteria, such as subject and level.

In order to initiate a contact with a tutor, you will first have to register. Just click the “contact” link of the desired tutor in the Find a tutor page or the “Contact” button in the tutor’s full profile and fill in and submit the contact form.

If the subject you want to learn is not listed in the subject list, please tell us about it by means of the contact page. AJ Gurus does not guarantee that it will be added to the list, but will give adequate consideration to all requests.

All the tutors are screened to validate their qualifications and skill level. There is much information about tutors on their profile, including education level and experience.

The students pay directly into the AJ Gurus Business account. Under no circumstance should the student pay money directly to the Tutor as this violates the company policy. The business account can be found at Payment Methods

Tutors:

Tutors are the client-facing side of AJ Gurus. Tutors apply to open jobs, create and edit lessons, write reports, and mark jobs as finished. A tutor's payment is tracked via payment orders.

Tutors can apply to work for AJ Gurus via Become a Tutor . They will be prompted to fill out their contact information, teaching skills and upload a CV.

Teaching skills are the tutor's specific qualifications that the tutor is capable of teaching. They are used by the scheduling system to intelligently filter specific jobs to tutors. A tutor's 'Available Jobs' tab will show which jobs fully and partially qualified for. New job notifications can also be sent only to tutors who have the necessary teaching skills. This means that a specialist mathematics tutor won't be sent messages about history jobs. Note that the tutors can still apply to any available job, even if they don't meet the appropriate requirements.

Qualifications are a history of a tutor's previous experience, training, and education. The qualifications panel can be found on a tutor's profile. Universities, schools, extra-curricular activities and more can also be added.

No, Any person with the necessary skills and qualifications can tutor. However, AJ Gurus wishes to maintain a high professional level among the registered teachers and can contact tutors where appropriate to make sure that they have the necessary qualifications.

There are two ways to find students:

• Wait to be contacted,

• and/or regularly see jobs posted on your dashboard.

Registering is free for both Tutors and students
